2 IDEAS FROM THE PODCAST

Idea #1: Introduce your streams with the “Why, What, How & What If” format.

Your brand’s name has limited importance when you’re introducing yourself.

Instead, you should hook the audience immediately by building up to why they’re in the stream. Something as simple as “Have you ever struggled with X?” or “Do you find yourself having trouble with Y?” works, and use that to move to the next part.

A direct statement of what is to come for the stream “Well, in this stream we’ll be covering X, Y, and Z.” After that comes how this would change their lives or the way they work; and finally what if they want to learn more? Then stick around for the rest of the stream.

This way, you hook the audience and make them want to watch the rest of the stream.

I always tell people that when you're going to introduce your show, you're going to follow what I call the why, what, how, and what if format.”

Idea #2: How to get people excited for your streams.

Stephanie gave a few golden tips if you’re interested in streaming, one of which is about getting people excited to show up.

First of all, there are a few things about the way you do a livestream that get people excited.

If you are consistent with when you go live, people will block out their time to watch you. Instead of randomly scheduling your streams, have a set time and day to do so.

At that point, it becomes a virtual version of open office hours, where people can get their questions answered in real-time.

People can see there’s no AI or outside help to come up with an answer, they can also see that you know the answer.

In terms of promoting the stream before it happens, Stephanie recommends a 3-part series of stories that looks like this:

  1. A hard fact about the topic of your stream. “Did you know that X is Y?”

  2. The second and third are questions directed at the audience. “Are you using X?”

  3. The third story has the CTA. “If you’re looking into using X the best way possible, tune into our live stream happening at 3:30PM EST.”

These are just some of the ways Stephanie can get her audience intrigued and tuning into her streams. If you’re interested in more tips, you should listen to our podcast. 👀

1 KEY LEARNING

Live streams aren’t about perfection, they’re about connection.

Don’t worry too much about saying or doing the perfect thing every moment. This ends up hurting you in the long-run when you’re not performing as you should, and people end up leaving the streams.

Instead be dynamic, personable, and accept mistakes happen. Above all else, connecting with your audience is the most important part..
